Encapsulating & stabilising stained glass
Victorian period properties often boast windows and door lights with original stained glass detail, but these become loose... especially so in doors with the constant stresses as it is opened and closed.
By stabilising the stained glass panels within a double, or triple, glazed unit, the beauty of these original features can be preserved and protected whilst significantly enhancing the energy efficiency, sound insulation and security value of the replacement product.
Note; these units can also be filled with inert Argon gas for even greater environmental protection, a higher U-value and to slow the oxidization of leads.

UPVC is extremely cost effective as unlike timber and wooden frames which tend to rot and flake easily, UPVC needs virtually no maintenance apart from the occasional wipe down. It is a strong, tough and resilient material which is very unlikely to need be replaced for at least the first 10 years after installation.
If you are security conscious then UPVC is for you as it is almost impossible to break or damage due to it being made with the utmost hardness. UPVC windows and doors is a most competent insulator, much more so than those windows and doors with wooden frames, preventing the likelihood of homes become draughty... even in Manchester!

After carefully removing the panel from the old frame, a new stained glass section is cut, inserted and re-mounted using a new border lead.
All of the leads are then polished and the stained glass window blown clean with high pressure air before being encapsulated into a glazing unit and hermetically sealed.
